Equipped with a high water sensor that activates the hazard beacons when sensor detects high water level and system is deactivated once water level decreases below preset height. This system is ideal for those locations that are notorious for those moist conditions that could cause traffic accidents due to the roads being flooded. With this system accidents are kept to a minimum in those areas for the very reason the drivers are cautioned of road conditions

Our SPLasher device is a compact, all-in-one solar controller, flasher, and auto-dimmer for flasher beacons. The way it works is energy efficient and simple! The SPLasher uses Maximum Power point Tracking (MPPT) which extracts maximum power from the solar panel regardless of the environment. This is how it works with our High Water sensor activation: The SPLasher is inside the control cabinet of the beacon with the High Water sensor hooked up in the “switch”activation port. When the sensor senses high water level, it’ll tell the SPLasher, which will tell the flashers to activate. Once the sensor no longer senses the high water level, the flashers will cut off automatically.

Question: How long does the battery last?

Answer: Typically the average life span of a battery is anywhere from 3-5 years.

 

Question: If I furnish my own battery what type do I need?

Answer: You will a 110 amp deep cycle battery. They make various types of batteries from wet cell to AGM batteries. Our recommendation would be a sealed AGM battery for maintenance reasons.

 

Question: Do you provide a battery with the system?

Answer:  Our standard system does not come with a battery but it may be purchased as an option. Please see our options tab for further information.

 

Question: What is the typical battery backup? (days to run without solar input)

Answer: Our standard systems have at least 7-10 days of battery backup using a  110 amp battery.

 

Question:  Does signage come with the unit?

Answer:  Our standard system does not come with a sign but it may be purchased as an option. Please see our options tab for further information.

 

Question:  If I purchase the optional signage can the speed limit be modified to meet my existing speed limit?

Answer:  Yes. When you place order or need quote simply inform our sales team of the desired speed limit.

 

Question:  How many hours a day are these systems designed to run?

Answer:  Our beacons are controlled by the SPLasher system which has a mode settings of 24-7, 1 minute, 3 minutes, 0r 30 minutes.

 

Question: Do I furnish my own pole or can I purchase on from your company?

Answer:  You can do whichever is most convenient for you. If you would like to use your existing pole simply let us know what type of pole you will be mounting to so we can supply the correct mounting hardware.  If you would like us to provide a pole please see our optional poles under the options tab on the website.

 

Question:  What is the lead time for these systems?

Answer:  Our typical lead time is 4-6 weeks ARO.

 

Question:  Can the system be AC powered?

Answer: Yes, the system can be AC powered we will use our standard DC powered system without the solar and add a power supply in its place to convert the ac power coming in to our DC powered system.

 

Question: How are the beacons activated?

Answer: The system comes with a high-water detection sensor which you place several feet away from system toward where the high-water will be detected. Once the water level rises to a certain point the sensor sends a signal to the SPLasher in the LED beacons and it activates them.

 

Question: How is the beacon cut-off once activated?

Answer: Once the high water detector sensor does not detect any water the sensor will send signal to the SPLasher in the LED beacons to deactivate.

 

Question:  Do you provide any installation, mounting, and wiring instructions?

Answer:  Yes, we do provide all this information and more available on our website for each model under “Support Documents”.

 

Question:  How large are the beacons?

Answer:  The LED beacons are 12 inches.

 

Question:  Do the LED beacons flash alternately with one another or together?

Answer:  The LED beacons flash alternately.
